Why should you choose Windows 7?

Windows 7 makes the basics easier than ever. It has smart features to support easy sharing files and printers on a home network
Designed to sleep and resume quicker, be less memory hungry so you can say goodbye to booting problems
Better thumbnail previews, easier-to-see icons, and more ways to customize your desktop
Spots USB devices faster
Gives an easy path to a program’s recently used files through the use of Jump Lists

I personally love windows 7! This coming from a Linux/MAC guy. Its easy and it works pretty well , however I think that the security UAC is still kinda wonky I would love to be able to whitelist certain applications that is very aggravating.

Yes, I am also using windows 7, nice interface.
But it is a new, so many applications can not work out, I hope will soon improve in the future,
May soon have eight windows and I am waiting for the development of this good.

I have Win7 Ultimate and it is sweet. Startup and shutdown are very fast. Ok so you do have to have a screaming system but what do you need $$$ for. -i7 950 6GBRAM Asus WS Revolution PNY 580 256MB 500GB WD Caviar Black Western Digital VelociRaptor
Domino liquid cooler.
The fact that I can now use the 6 GB of RAM I have is very nice.
Only bummer is that some of my old audio hardware is not supported in 64 bit. Photoshop is the fastest it has ever been and I can render video in faster than real time.

The Aero interface is very nice and having used a Mac for years it is even better.

Amazingly after reading this forum I was able to do a clean install Win 7 and set up my preferences with little trouble. It went way better than Vista and seems very stable so far.

Windows 7 is looking to be very impressive. It’s designed to be able to run on netbooks so it’s very efficient. Definitely better than Vista.

Sometimes, windows 7 will be slow when running many applications, but I never see any OS better than it

I have seen win 7 and it's great. But for me I will stick to xp first because some drivers are not compatible with win7 :D

waiting for the release of drivers (sound, video, etc...) until then I will install it on my pc. :D

I too am using Windows 7 and I think it is the best operating system ever. It has good graphics and it is very fast also.

I am using win7 and i love it. Its speed and graphics are unparalleled. Now i am waiting win8

If microsoft don't mess it up.... windows 8 is going to be really awesome.

just reduce it one notch and it won't trouble you.

yes it is loads better than vista.

Microsoft seems to have realized that people like to customize their operating system, they have put a lot of customization option in Windows 7 and have a separate section for personalizing windows 7 in their windows website which have the most awesome themes.

Windows 7 has good reviews. But I just want to ask if it is stable just like the XP?

I like it, much faster than XP ( Vista I gave up on after about one day and reverted to XP, but I think I can do without XP now. ) It does definitely load up fast, but not as fast as Ubuntu. One thing annoying me in windows 7 is a little ripple effect on my pointer everytime i point at something it emits these rings...grrrr...i cant see how to turn it off.

I think 7 will be even more popular than XP in time.. so far, XP seems to be the best OS for long time...

I love Windows 7 too. I use the Ultimate Edition. It is user friendly and I guess anybody can easily adapt to its features whether they are previous XP or Vista users. Indeed, it has faster startup feature than XP and its design is awesome.

it goes very slow for me and hangs a lot

Did you check if your system can run Windows 7? You can download Microsoft upgrade advisory. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx

Maybe you have a low specification that's why you have a problem installing it. I love the interface and the added features they added. Windows 7 is like the graphical user interface of a Vista and loads faster like XP. :D

Windows 7 is good. I recommend you to install XP. It is better than 7 in many respects. I am using xp sp3 for more than five years. No problem with it.

i agree that windows 7 is amazing. the commercials where they show regular folks saying i invented windows 7 ... didn't buy it. didn't believe microsoft had listened. they did.

I'm a big fan of windows 7. I'd even say the security on win 7 x64 is comparable to macs because there are less people capable of writing viruses in a 64bit language. Regardless, win 7 a vast improvement over vista.
