This is the first time that I've seen such a low market share for Google in a specific country.

Who said it is on top chart?
Search engines have different strategy.
In some parts of the world, MSN is more used by the searchers.

This information is very helpful if your site is targeting visitors from China.

Google tries for a couple of years now to increase their market share in China. They just not able to get people change the search habits from Baidu to G. It's good to know G does not rule the entire world yet.

Its a strange thing to know that even Google is not the Top most Search Engine. I use to think that Gogole is the leader of Search Engines. Thanks for the information man.

China is a different market and actually it is very interesting. Baidu in spite of all its superiority in numbers, is just a poor copy of Google. Technologically and relevancy wise, they are nowhere near Google. But they get much more traffic due to their domain name (easier for chinese people?) and first mover advantage. Google is much popular in educated people and youngsters.

But all these are set to change, considering the latest developments!

btw, baidu registration is not as straight forward as many other search engine platforms. Upfront payment aside, trying to locate someone to converse in English with you is quite a chore too.

google is by far still the most friendly search engine to search marketers.

well i guess that's a big reason why Google quite china. For the first some other search engine is been able to compete and get better of the Google.
