Does anyone know how to list a company on Hoovers? I couldn't find any info on how those 12 million companies got listed there. :)
Also, will Hoovers listing count as a link?

from their FAQs:
Q: How can I get my company added to Hoover’s Online?
A: You may send your request via e-mail to update@hoovers.com. Requests must be received in writing. Please be as specific as possible and include a return e-mail address or phone number where we can contact you. Our editors will determine if the company meets the criteria for being a part of the Hoover’s database.
I dont know if it counts as a link - my geuss is because the pages are password protected, I dont think SEs index them....since a link to a company page at Hoovers on an SE would not let a user actually get to that page...so I make the educated guess "NO" - a link on Hoovers will not be seen by SEs. In fact my Co. is listed but that link is not registered as a backlink on Google or Altavista (but those arent very reliable anyway)
Oh well..
If you already listed your company in Hoovers then you would most likely know what kind of info they request before they start considering the company. In the FAQs it is said that it should be in writing, but that is all they say. Also, does it cost anything, or it is free?
