Google Adwords keyword nightmare!

Hello everyone. I was recently put in charge of organizing my firm’s google adwords campaign and I have found the application of acceptable keywords to be a nightmare. The firm I am working for is a reasonably large one (100+ lawyers) in China called Lehman, Lee and Xu. Most of my keywords have under the required click through rate and therefore the campaign that they are in gets knocked off.

My question really is how many keywords do most people use and how broad are they in scope? For instance, we have opened offices in most places in China and some of them are very remote. Our Mongolian office is not likely to get much Adwords support because of the relative paucity of “Mongolia law firm” searches there are.

Any comments/suggestions would be welcome.

The very best way to handle this is using the "negative tool" (or simply the "-" to eliminate non-relavant keywords on more broader matches.

To illustrate start with precise match on:

"law firm"
"law attorney"
"law practice"

Then start your long list of "-" negative terms, such as:

-new york
-florida
-australia
and so on... (note: my example suck compared to your specific region - just not sure what is irrelevant in your region.

Your list should include every non-relevant country name, province/state name, county name, and city, town name in your region but outside of your reach.

Also note that if you are using "regional" searches it is extremely unlikely that "law firm" would produce searches for "other regions" but more law firm usage in only "your region of use", thus only needing to negative terms that are "just outside your specific reach.

In the first few days keep a very close eye on impression and click through and each time a redundant one appears add to negative list.

Over a short period of time you "will" almost certainly eliminate all "poor" search terms while maximizing every possible quality lead there is!
