I have a network of sites that all link to each other. As far as I know there is not an issue with this. Currently the links are strict urls on the page. Am I correct in assuming that I will benefit if I use my keywords in the displayed text of the link instead of just the URL?
Thanks,

ummm, yes

There is a problem with this - if the crosslinking between sites is excessive, it will be penalized. The problem is, no one except G know where the "line in the sand" is between excessive and not excessive. The "line" may be different if the sites are on the same class IP address.

Yes. Anchor text rules.

You will find that in time, in search results, your anchor text will turn up, along with links to your site. It pays to write good description for your links.

Thanks for all your help here and in the past.
Can anyone venture a guess as to the amount of cross linking would have a negative effect? I have 2 sites at around 100 pages, and one with about 20 pages thant all link together. Is there a rule of thumb to go by? Stay under 1000 crosslinked pages, 5000 pages, etc?
Thank you
