It simply amazes me how many people have fallen for the seo doctrine of danny sullivan.

When the truth of search rankings are truly revealed i think you will find alot of people have been duped.

I have placed over 5000 sites to the top [ #1 ] during the last 9 years and i would never reveal my secrets.

If people are all doing the same thing, paying the same price, then perhaps everyone is simply battling each other to an unfruitful end.

There is a new search engine coming out [ that none-one here has even mentioned ] that can not be manipulated by seo tactics or techniques - which will totally change the outcome of the other engines.

And you can't buy your way to the top.

What will Danny sell you then?

Perhaps Lycos???

Your point in coming here to bag one of the more respected search engine comemmentators is?

You are only making a fool of yourself.

I'll defend Danny Sullivan a little bit. He does not misquote me. He has access to people at Google, whereas I'm still waiting for a reply from Google about their privacy policies that I was promised two years ago. He is knowledgeable, and has a broad overall view of the search engine industry.

However, he's not speaking for the public sector. He does not and cannot speak for nonprofits. He's not interested in corporate ethics or social ethics.

Instead, he's speaking for the commercial sector. He's under contract to Jupitermedia, which is agressively into ecommerce. He is limited in his ability to criticize search engines because of this.

The fact that there are almost no search engine watchers who are not tied in with ecommcerce means that Sullivan has emerged as the expert, and the one that all journalists have to quote, because all journalists writing on the topic, sooner or later, need a quote. That's really not his fault. At least his statements are measured and reasonable. He rarely breaks new information, but he's pretty good at rehashing what everyone figured out several weeks ago.
