Like it or not sometimes we have to accept pop-ups. But I am more than irritated by pop-ups that open windows without buttons and bars (even my bank does it). Can I set my computer to force buttons, address bar and status bar onto every pop-up, and, if so, how?
I do have History Kill's pop-up killer on.

Stop using Internet Explorer and use a decent browser instead. Mozilla, Firebird (http://www.mozilla.org) and Opera (http://www.opera.com) all have built in pop up stoppers. Firebird also allows you to disable various javascript tricks such as hiding the status bar, resizing windows, etc.

Then what use are security features that Jave enables? I use some Jave functions to protect my pictures. Browsers that eneable people to circumvent these could be held Liable for the theft and copyright violations of my work.

There is no way you can protect your pictures other than watermarking. You cannot sue a browser just because you posted some pictures on the net and somebody saved one. If nothing else all browsers allow the user to disable javascript totally.

Well I wouldn't call any kind of Javascript a security feature. Especially since it can be disabled.
That would be like having a security alarm at your home and a disable switch right on the outside of the house.

You can use MSIE and get rid of popups quite simply, and at the same time enable popups on sites where you want them:
Two words: Norton Personal Firewall...
(no wait... that's three words...)

A big ewwwwwwwwwwww at Norton Firewall (actually it is two words). I'll stick with Sygate (http://www.sygate.com) thanks :p
My gripe with IE is the amount of web pages out there that are sloppily coded because the maker thinks IE is the only web browser and as we all know IE allows for some really sloppy code. Same applies to javascripts. How may times have you found some javascript that works fine in IE but not in any other browser? MS's need to learn that sometimes making things easier actually makes them worse.
Opera has now started following IE's footsteps by accepting sloppy HTML and basically "fixing" the code before it renders it. One reason why I now use Firebird instead of Opera.
