Hello everybody,
I'm gonna go straight to the point. In google webmaster tools, under subscriber stats there is an option to submit your rss feed as a sitemap. I wanted to know if anybody else tried it, since I am having a hard time finding more information about that.
Did you benefit from it? Positively or negatively? After how much time?
Thanks a lot for all your answers. :)

Never noticed it before... i've submitted mine. Not sure what it will do tho?
Very interesting. I have a few feeds that index contain new product listings - will be interesting to see how quickly the feed gets them indexed.

I have had problems in submitting RSS feed site map to Google Web-master tools. For some reason my Wordpress RSS feeds are automatically detected by Google web master tools as sitempas but I always get warning that is has syntax errors.

I've never tried submitting rss feed as a sitemap. I think it may save you some time if you don't want to create XML sitemap.

Rss make double content. google dont like it.
Rss make double content. google dont like it.
What? Google loves RSS feeds - content that is in a lightweight, strictly formatted and easy to process format gives a search engine a simple method to parse data.
In my testing so far, submitting a feed of new items, I had 12 of 16 indexed in a single day. This indicates to me that this feature will have a great potential for getting new pages indexed.

I just did this... I am assuming that this will be extra and not take priority over my xml sitemap I have submitted already (I resubmit this about once a month when many pages are added or have been deleted.)
My RSS feed only goes to three pages of my website...namely the home page and news page...
Not sure if this will hurt...time will tell!

Hey guys. I have this tiny bit problem stuck here. See, I have finished my RSS feed, tested it and all works perfectly, but when I remove an article from my feed it still showed in the reader. How do i get the reader to see the article is no longer part of the feed. Any ideas what's wrong?
and visit rss channel writer also. you might fid something interesting there.
