Hi,

Just had a demand for a follow on year payment from a company asp-host. When I responded to say that I had been emailing frequently to cancel with no response, their response was that they had received no emails. Forunately I keep my outbox.

Just a word of warning, I know that others have experienced this and had a succession of demands.

I think you are right to bring this to light for others.

If you check the terms under which the web hosting was opened the contract will show the method and notice required to cancel the agreement.

Always ensure you cancel an account in the correct way. When you purchase you enter into a contract which you would have agreed to the terms of the contract; within the terms there are clearly defined ways to cancel an account. Sending an email to them is NOT the correct route in most instances.

In either case if you do not receive confirmation and acceptance of your cancellation then assume the worst and try another method of communication.

Do not assume your old hosting account is cancelled until you have received and filed away confirmation and acceptance of your cancellation.
