Click Tag Information

Don't know whether this section is the right place to ask this question or not. If not please move it to the right section.

My client want me to embed the Click Tag to record impressions & clicks for a mailer campaign.

What is click tag?

Is it only applicable for flash banner or it applicable for e mailers also.

Please educate me to know that how I can embed Click Tag into mailer.

Any help will be well appreciated.

This is where a little bit of client knowledge is just simply annoying.

What your client is simply asking, is to track the number of clicks to the links within your mailer.

It all depends on your stats program. I'm sure you can utilize google analytics to track the number of clicks.

Impressions on the other hand are not going to be accurate. Simply because certain email programs (like thunderbird) and web based email (like gmail) blocks out images by default, so you will not be able to accurately track how many people truly read the email. For that matter, impression tracking will also only work on html compatible email readers.

I don't know exactly how accurate it is but I believe Google Analytics offer a stat associated with how many times a link on a monitored web page has been clicked.
