You will need to supply the following deliverables to the management team for evaluation.
A formal written proposal.
An oral presentation of your proposal.
The proposal should include:
A description of the project and the proposed solution. The solution will show all required and optional elements.
Necessary network diagrams.
Recommended hardware and software.
A timeline for implementation.
We will use its new offices in a building called the F building. The building is a two story building that is L shaped. The building will house approximately 80 employees. Offices on the second floor and small offices on the first floor require network connections with an average bandwidth of 6Mbs. Each office should have the capability of sharing a network printer. Large offices on the first floor will need 25Mbs bandwidth. There will be 20 people in the large first floor office. The center offices have three people and the need for additional connections around the conference table. The medium size first floor office has four people.
Network access will require the following:
Servers providing file and print services.
Internet access for all employees
Access to an SQL database for all employees. A new company Intranet.
Currently the company uses a web hosting company to provide web and email services. NSTCC wishes to evaluate the possibility of bringing that work in-house. Include requirements for doing this along with a feasibility analysis.
Currently the company has a wide range of systems in use. Computers include all types of Pentiums, 386, and 486 based systems. The company president has an IBM Model 25. Some of these computers will need to be replaced. Please include a minimum recommended hardware requirement for all desktop computers. Also, include a recommendation for the president’s computer. He would like to know if he should keep the computer of replace it.
The current occupants of the new building have not yet moved. You will have limited access to the offices for the purpose of designing and recommending the cabling system. The access you have should be sufficient for the purpose of design. You are not required to specify wire tracks and conduit that may be necessary for the network. You are only responsible for the basic design of the cable plant.
