I could play ball all day long. Between the back, the elbow, and not being a professional, my basketball days are essentially over, but as you get older and your body starts to take abuse you learn a couple of salient facts about basketball:

1. A two handed dunk {which requires the most physical assertion} is worth - TWO POINTS.
2. A simple lay-up {which requires far less physical assertion} is worth - TWO POINTS

lol... and unless you're Spud Webb... being aerodynamic, low to the ground, and built for speed, doesn't lend itself to hoops. :)

Passing to one that does either, or has a good outside shot {which requires even less physical assertion than driving to the bucket} is worth - TWO POINTS

Probably why I excelled at V-Ball and not hoops. Now my rt knee(medial collateralx3 2nd deg. sprains = 30 - 40% functional ligament) insists on living vicariously. I can still walk, and even sprint, so I wish to preserve these abilities.

I am 50 yrs. old on August 9, 2009. I never could dunk a b-ball, but did get to slamming a v-ball at my peak(28 in. verticall, 6'2")

Now, about the tournament. Tomorrow night. Sweet sixteen.
Kansas v Michigan State - I think Kansas will play Louisville in Elite Eight
Missouri v Memphis(on CBS) - picking Memphis to play powerhouse UConn in Elite Eight

elite eight predictions
Villanove looks hot vs underdogs Xavier
NC v Syracuse

So, I haven't seen a game this year, but I am going on hunches for Saturdays matchups.

UConn been blowing people out. North Carolina looks good, but watch for the Syracuse v Oklahoma winner to be dangerous.

Nick the greek watch out! I got 50% of the winners i predicted, but i didn't know who was playing who!

I bombed on calling Xavier to prevail in an upset but Pittsburgh one, I got Uconn and Villanova right but alas, Missouri will play instead of Memphis.

I doing exactly as well as random selections would expected to do.
