the sort cut is,if you have a great luck to get listed by DMOZ,if you have a money to be listed with PRweb ,and Yahoo Directory,I believe there is nothing to worry to wait getting linkback,Quality Theme design also important for you ,I think when your site is table less I think that will be better

Just stop being obsessed with it - DMOZ submission is not something you can control, approval depends on many things and takes ages.

Dmoz is controlled by a certain community.. You cannot get links lightly. They only give links to "their own ppl".

forget Dmoz and yahoo and just concentrate on your own site.
Build up pages write good content. and write and release articles back to your site. This will help with PR and traffic

After all PR is nothing without traffic and earnings.. so ignore PR for now

PR is not the main parameter in SEO, don't stick just to it. Your backlinks must be natural, for that you need to produce valueable content, make a community around your website. Look at social media services to find people who are interested in your topic.

google pr relative to your baccklinks. so try to build more and more backlinks with your site. then you can get good pr. within 2 month, you can get to pr3 at least.

Avoid copied content, beware of quoting to much, create lots of original content and get links from high pr sites to yours. That should do it.

I agree with others in that you should not necessarily be tunnel vision focused on pagerank alone. However if you are looking to boost this then posting on relevant blogs (useful & constructive comments, not spam), signature links on forums, creating articles and submitting to article directories, submitting site to free directories, etc. are all great ways. However if you are after PR you should also make sure the links you gain are not "nofollow". If you are not sure what this means then I suggest you Google nofollow links and do some research. There are some great tools that you can use to easily see when a link is nofollow or dofollow such as NoDoFollow which is a FireFox addon.

who told you that ??? From Past 2 years Directories lost them worth not just in SE's eyes also in Regular user's Eyes, now a directories are just for webmasters and bloggers, i never get a huge amount of loyal visitors From Directories, in-fact i never get quality back link too from them . maybe dmoz and yahoo directories are good source of back link but not for traffic...

on topic: if you want to increase traffic of your website, you must have to do some SEO For your sites, You have to increase your Search engine Ranking first to increase your traffic, because there is just Search engines Are best and big source of traffic, beside search engine there is Social media networking/bookmarking Those can drive some traffic to your site, and after that there is Forum posting ( not spaming and forums must be related to your site/blogs niche) And blog commenting (use same method As Forum posting) And then there is article Submission, And directory submission ... But most important thing is that you have to have Some unique and user friendly content/resources on your site to attract visitors and also to attract webmasters ( because if you have these both quality things they (webmaster) love to link with your site

yeah sure You are right , but how many these kind of directories are present here ???? Its really hard to get index in Dmoz, Yahoo is paid, just botw is ok but you can't get enough links from just 2 or 4 sites like botw ... So for me directories are worthless now a days

Doing Off-Page Optimization would be the best thing.. Off-Page deals with building links.. Here are some of the strategies to get quality of back links

PR is all about inbound links, the inbound links which would pass on some PR juice from the linking website will lead to increase or decrease in PR. It has nothing to do with your SERPs, so its totally not needed to concentrate on this PR.Instead concentrate on your SERPs and traffic. Just have this for fun alone, dont take it much serious.
