I am in need of setting up a video player that has hosting and the capabilities of generating an embed code. It also needs to be a reasonably priced service. Does anyone have suggestions?

I think maybe you need to provide more details on the goal. What type of video player, source etc..

Streaming video? Live feed? What format? Budget?

If you like you can just PM me and I'd be happy to help you find a solution.

I am very happy with a product called Easy Flv

Add video to any website with our set of Streaming Video Software and Web Video Players (http://www.easyflv.com/)

For 50 bucks it gives you the streaming program and a coverter program that will convert most applications into flash

you can see it in use on one of my sites at the link below

Cool video but it's cutting up so bad it's buffering every 5 secs and there are no controls, stop, pause, vol.

$50 bucks for the software maybe, but where are you hosting that video? Something is not right.. sorry -- it's not even that long of a video.

I'm curious to know why you would not use YouTube? It seems from an SEO perspective as well as the fact that YouTube is free - this would be an option.

Then, you have an inbound link from Youtube, you may show up in search results under the option Videos and you make it possible for other websites to display your content.

Okay, the more I use Google for free, the more worried I get that one day they'll throw water on everything and either charge for the service or diminish my content with competitive ad placements.

But for now, I don't yet see any reason not to use all this free stuff. Am I missing anything?

YouTube is one of the busiest video sites, and they convert whatever format you upload to swf, and maybe even optimize it a bit. The search results may even improve.

We had a page that was nowhere in the results until adding an embedded video from YouTube (our wmv file). The page shows high in the result now on many of the terms in the page.

I haven't used it personally, but people I know use Viddler for hosted video.
Viddler.com - The best way to watch and publish your videos (http://viddler.com)
There is an example here.
Tangoangel Videos (http://www.tangoangel.com/video.php)
I'm hosting a few videos using Flowplayer myself.

Yes, I do agree with Web Res as YouTube might be a good option. Now that YouTube is having HD, it will be an ideal case. I am also hosting video with embedded code from YouTube.
