Hi everyone,

Can anyone please look at my site & help me to optimize it correctly. I need help selecting the right keywords too.

My site is www.horizonwetsuits.com. Any & all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

As you can see I am a beginner & not real experienced in this. Unfortunately, I don't have the $$$ yet to hire a pro like you guys. I appreciate the free advice.

Hi there,

Well, at first I couldn't launch your site from the link above - then I removed the "." at the end so - users wanting to click to Horizon wetsuits for comments:

www.horizonwetsuits.com

With regard to keywords, start by using a tool like this one:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

Type in "wetsuit" - compare those results to the ones for "wetsuits".
Also use this tool (http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/keyword-research-tool.shtml ) to find words related to your main keyterms that you should use in your content, in addtion to your keyterms.
There are many of these tools available - I supplied two that I use quite often. I'm sure other seo's will offer others as well.
I like to develop one page per term - optimize the whole page for the one term by writing some content. Be sure that all the pages can be reached by creating a site map, with links to the pages. (Good for search engines and visitors.)

Submit your site to dmoz.org in the appropriate category (this may take a while).

With regard to your site:
IMHO, your front page is a little long. It looks like you've tried to repeatedly use your keywords for the search engines, not for your *real* site visitors. While it's good to understand exactly what you do / make, I don't want to feel bashed over the head with it. Maybe a logo more representative of your product and vision would help. I like the waves / surfboards concept for the buttons.

And, my biggest question for the day!
"We specialize in custom wetsuits for everyone"
(That is repeatedly mentioned down the page - except in your company description where you state "However, keep in mind we do not do custom design wetsuits.") Now, while I thought about it and decided yes, I could understand the difference (albeit slight), I don't know if everyone will. Perhaps the whole company history section would be better on an About Us page. And the difference between custom wetsuit and custom designed wetsuit on an FAQ.

Good luck!

A few pointers with meta tags that will help you right from the get go!

All your pages should look similar to this:

<html>
<head>
<title>Custom Wet Suits - HorizonWetSuits.com</title>
<meta name="keywords" content="wet suits,custom wet suits,womens wet suits,mens wet suits,kids wet suits,wetsuits,custom wetsuits">
<meta name="description" content="Custom wet suits from HorizonWetSuits.com">
</head>
<body>

1. only one keyword per title tag.
2. title tag comes first in title tag.
3. keywords are all within the same meta content quotes.
3.5 no more than 10 keywords per page is my rule!
4. description is short and straight to the point, I like to repeat the domain here.

There is a ton of space in your code from the head section to the body section, I would take all that dead space out.

--just this should help you a ton!!

I can also help you understand what keywords people are actually using if you would like, but not throught the forum. My method it's kinda a long and very detailed process.

good luck!
