Counting magpies.
There are seven in the trees opposite. I understand magpies mate for life. Does this mean one of them is in for a frustrating future or could I be witnessing an evolutionary development?

Hhhm. I wonder what darwin would have to say about the issue? Or maybe theyre mormon magpies?
If im on the internet but not working, which isnt very often (but the following list sounds contradictory to that) ill often be found playing poker (badly), listening to music (last.fm rocks!), watching vids, stumbling, shopping, gaming and erm...
watching porn, hacking government mainframes, setting u terrorist cells, creating fake myspace profiles to stalk ex-girlfriends or ordering pizza.

hhm. I wonder what darwin would have to say about the issue? Or maybe theyre mormon magpies?
mormons are polygamous so magpies are not mormons. In actual fact they are secular like all animals and plants, excepting a certain percentage of one animal species that seem to think a magic man in the sky, who is allegedly full of love and grace and forgiveness, will roast their butts if they don't worship him.
I wonder what Darwin would say to that, wait, he it didn't make sense, much like magpies beliefs.
In any event, when I am online, I generally surf political and science blogs or look stuff up that I wish to know, for instance tutorials on programming or what makes breasts so alluring, but mostly the former. I also spend much time (far, far too much) looking for solutions/downloads/instructions for people that I know.
Mostly it is blogs where I can be witty or embarassing or contradictive. I like using my feeble brain all of the time, I mean always. When I search for music videos to pirate I look up lyrics and what they mean, band biographies, and the names of the foxes in the videos. Mostly I try to keep from drooling on my keyboard.

Working. Whenever my PC is on, I work. Other than that, I'd be rather sleeping or going out shopping! Because staying on the PC almost 24/7 can make me go nuts (but then again, I earn a lot while I am on working than am out) :p

I do work at my desk but I am partial to the odd sneaky visit to YouTube. I also use facebook and twitter. I was fooled just recently into thinking James May had a profile set up - the clone was very convincing.
Also congratulate me, this is my 2nd day of full-time work and I haven't gone mad (yet!). :p

Full time work is good to have  ! I Imagine
In my experience it usually takes several days to start to unravel. Paradoxically, I find that when I AM FINALLY unraveled (after at least 2 - 3 more days), I love going to work!
Soon, you will meet many people like you and quickly discover that being unraveled is a great blessing - when you are at work. (The drooling part I could do without, but almost no-one notices.

I say, "Yes, I am management. What department are you in?"
They say, "Not yours."
I say, "You are lucky."

Recently, when I am online, I am learning about video conversion. DVD to smartphone is a big one. The codecs and softwares take experience. The best I have found is at koyotesoft (http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html) and Super (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html)
Tutorials = Guide, How To, Tutorial and Article list (http://www.videohelp.com/convert)

I totally agree!! I never find the time to just browse for fun!! Let alone play games!
I make a list on notepad of things I need to do and get on with it...after all that is finished I try to spend some quality time with my family...but that rarely happens unless I totally get away!
I only manage two websites and a forum! I check all my e mails first and answer as prompt ansers are essential to maintain business. After that I upload changes to both the websites as keeping up to date and dynamic keeps me high on search engines but more importantly gives a better experience for the user.
After that I administrate the forum and reject 20 zillion spam applications (hate that stuff!)
Then I check other related forums I have posted on etc...if I get time I then check the social networking sites and groups etc all again related to the business..
After all that I can then conduct personal and family stuff to keep up to date with relatives in different parts of the world...
then I think...what can I do to improve my websites...thats when I get around to checking here!! Also download tutorials etc...
once I get bored with all that I can then check some porn sites!! LOL
But that rarly occurs as I get more incoming e mails to answer before I reach that point and have to start the cycle all over again!!
Usually end up with a headache take some aspirin start to listen to some music and fall asleep!
cheers

mostly i check my mails then log on to some Forum sites..and do some posting on threads, when i'm at work.
but during non working days, i usually chat with my friends, open my sites and check out my mails..do some browsing on the net..play online games..watch some videos..anything.
there's a lot to do online, you won't run out of things to explore..
It varies. I seem to go through cycles. When I first retired, I spent a lot of time on various forums...some social, some professional. That lasted for a couple of months, but eventually got boring. Then I went through a couple of months researching. Science is a favorite topic and I became fascinated with quantum mechanics. Unfortunately, a lot of it is way over my head, but I still do a good bit of reading on it, mostly on-line. A while back, I started playing around with web design again, and took on a couple of projects. In the process I learned that html had evolved quite a bit, and so I'm boning up on that, trying to learn the basics of CSS, and absorbing all I can find on SEO.
In my spare time, I drive my wife nuts. Which is only fair, since I wasn't NEARLY this crazy thirty years ago! I figure that as the single most prominent variable in my life since then, it HAS to be her fault! ;)
