I have a number of sites which use the same code, but collect different data from databases, so the content is different.
I would like to make it simpler to copy just the new files from the main domain to the other domains. I haven't found an FTP program that will do it, some claim that they will, but just don't. And in fact, the program that I have used for years, WS.FTP Pro won't do it either.
I was wondering about some kind of version control, that could reside on my Windows development computer in the office. When I updated that, it would be simple enough to update all the sites from there.
However, I have't seen any that run locally, either under Apache, or, preferably, Windows. (to be honest, I have seen very few anyway!). If I use one of the online ones, and put it on my own server, I suspect that I will have the same problems of transferring from one domain t another.
Any suggestions?
