My thinking about those types of inquiries is that it is probably someone from those groups putting a little bug in your ear that "maybe" you should join. A lot of them call pretending to be a potential customer to make you think you are losing out on business. So, hopefully, you will then join and, hopefully, won't lose any more business.

Sorry, feeble attempt at humor. No offense intended. I Actually got a little ticked that I took the time to click and read your post only to discover how out of context it is.
