Canonicalization from developer css short cut

Our designers regularly design site menus with links such as:
domain.com/#

This is done to style menu heading text in the same way as a link. Now, i know what people are going to say. Why not create a new style entry and be done with the link. But, for arguments sake. Would this create canonicalization issues?

It should not cause any issues. The sharp is considered a client-side anchor, and should be ignored by the search engines.
