Hi Members,

I am working on a website, and we optimized the website keeping in mind the .com page, i.e. the main page of the website. But, do to some reasons it is being redirected to .com/html/index.html

Now, I got a doubt,

~ will I lose the page rank and the traffic via visitors, if I redirect it using 301.
~ and do we have any other alternative, for the same.

Kindly, do suggest. All the comments are highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

Using a 301 wont loose you any traffic and PR. It will all be pushed on to the page you redirect to. It can sometimes take a bit but it works!

Does that mean that, my top listing won't go, if I am re-directing?

Thanks & Regards

It may disappear for a short period of time until the SE figure out what's going on but from my experience 301s have always worked really well. Just do it at your quietest time of year to be safe.
