Rather than looking for an SEO consultant to help me rank higher by doing new things, I would first like to have this person review the site for things I am doing wrong first and prioritize them so I know where to start

For example (not in any order)

Canonicalization errors (if any)
Title Tag missing (we have lots missing)
Page load times (one critical page loads slow)
XHTML validation errors (we have many)
Internal linking layout
Spelling errors
Linking strategy
etc,
etc

We have an ongoing content and linking effort and have been very successful. #1 in some keywords, #2 on a few, #3 in a couple. However we are #7 in some that I would like to in the top 3 in.

Does anyone know of a good seo person that would review the site and give me this information. Then I can decide what to do in house and what to outsource and in what order.

Thank you!

Gary: You could do worse than participate in the forum at http://www.webproworld.com/submit-your-site-review/
It will at the least give you an overview of what various WPW members think of your site -- and, of course, it won't cost you a dime.
