Website cache has an issue

Today, I received a private message from a link exchange candidate that informed me that my site's cache was a fake. I quickly assured the individual that it was not a fake. The comment did catch me off-guard because the message started out as "oh dear, your site's cache is a fake...” Ouch!

But why was the cache different? I recently changed from a *.blogspot domain name to a customized domain name.

Here is my question: Is there anyway to promptly update a website or a blog's cache on Google/Yahoo?

Update: When I changed the domain name, Blogger moderators said it wouldn't affect my traffic too much because blogspot.com would automatically redirect to the new domain. Well, now it's receiving about a 1/3 of the traffic and each day is worse. Now I'm really wondering about the cache issue. Since it different, Google may think its duplicate content.

yea this may be a problem if we upgrade our blog the old cache may disappear and you"ll see a new webpage with just the content..

But it will resolve itself eventually?

Now its page rank has nosedived, too. PR6 to PR0 and then back to PR2. Glad I don't make my living doing this stuff.

Well anytime you move domains you could and probably will experience downtime as far as rankings and traffic is concerned. The search engines need to catch up so to speak. Have you verified that the old domain and its pages 301 redirect to the new URLs? Is the old website still live?

@incrediblehelp - Blogspot has a built-in redirect function, which I activated. Everything now points to the new domain name. The old domain name is dead. I think it's just a waiting game now. Thank you for you help.

Sounds good. I havent worked in Blogspot before.
