Hi all,

In case i plan to optimise my site for specific keywords or phrases. How do i make sure that the keywords (or phrases) i am working on, are actually common among users to get to a site like mine.

I am working on my company site, and we are providing IT services in the united arab emirates. Should i just follow guess work or is there any way to figure out the searching trends of people for things they are looking for. I hope my question is clear.

Waiting for ur replies :=)

You should not guess! Here is a tool to find searched keywords: Seo Book Keyword Suggestion Tool (http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/)

You might also want to check this one: Free Search Term Suggestion Tool by KeywordDiscovery.com (http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html) ... the more the merrier.

And consider getting an Adwords account; in addition to driving traffic to your site, it will give you a lot of information about searched terms. You can bid the minimum on a large number of terms to control your budget and maximize the information you will glean about keyword usage. Also, be sure to install Google Analytics and use Google's Webmaster Tools.

Cheers, MJ

Keyword Niche Miner (free) is a good tool to get search counts (Google & MSN) for top 100 related keywords. Previously it gives counts for Yahoo too but no longer since about two months ago.

Use Keyword Harvester (free) to get long list (some more than 2000).

I review and sell software. PM me if you need them. Thanks.

You should watch out for any tool that uses overture like seobook, as the overture results aren't updated anymore and are a few years old.

You should watch out for any tool that uses overture like seobook, as the overture results aren't updated anymore and are a few years old.

Overture's search data, as presented at http://inventory.overture.com/ , was last updated in JAN 2007, immediately prior to their migration to the Panama platform.

And, although such are no longer current, and limited to a sample span of but one month, said data are not wholly without value.
