You can use digital point SERP checker. In tools section you will find this. Check that.

You need to know what phrases to query. AFAIK, there is no software that can return the ranking on keyword phrases that you identified and plugged into the application.
To find out what keywords people are using to successfully find your site, consult your log files.
For a free tool to check KW phrases you have already identified, try GoogleRankings.com. It also checks MSN, Yahoo and Ask and goes 1,000 results deep.
Remember, you do get what you pay for (most of the time) so you might want to consider paid services or software. Many allow a trial period with limited features or some have a monthly subscription price to allow you to test whether the tool is worth it for you.

MJ what do I do if I cant get a SOAP API key? Have you heard of EvilAPI - Google SOAP Search API Replacement - Nashville SEO, SEM, Internet Strategy and Web Design (http://sitening.com/evilapi/) Is this just as good as Google's SOAP API Key? Can we share API keys?

Google sitemaps actually gives you ranking reports now and they find the terms you are looking for. Just get a Webmaster Tools account. Seems they update the ranking and you can compare weekly placements.
