Kindly educate me how to save a whole project folder in jpeg or gif and transfer the whole thumbnail from hard drive to the image page in my web? I am using the host web builder.

Not sure what that means.. But I think you want to upload the files you are working on to your website, right?

Usually an ftp program is good for that www.smartftp.com is a good one. Also cuteftp.

Another good program is WS_FTP. You can download a free copy of their "Lite" version here: http://www.ftpplanet.com/download.htm

This isn't a trial version, so there's no charge for using it for an extended length of time.


BTW, your hosting company may not give you the ability to upload to their server using ftp, as is sometimes the case with free hosting companies.

If that's the case with your hosting company, post the name and url of the hosting company here, and maybe someone can help you figure out how to use their service.

If necessary, I can move this topic to our Site Design forum where you might get some additional insight on resolving any problems you may be having.

Dreamweaver has an automatic feature for generating a thumbnail page with links to full size images. You also need to have Fireworks.

You simply open a blank new HTML document and choose the "create web photo album" from the Commands menu, answer a few questions and point the program to your folder of full sized images...then wait for the magic to happen.

You end up with a generic looking page with a table of thumbnails with links to the full size photos. If you have CSS skills, you can eaisly redesign the page to match the rest of your site, then simply upload the page and the image folder via FTP.

If what you are interested in doing is having the page generated automatically from a directory of thumbnails and a directory of full size images, I believe you have to do some scripting using something like PHP. Perhaps the database people can be of more help with that one.

At the Macromedia Exchange you will find an extension called "Web Photo Album 2.0"

Its has better functionality than the default command that comes with Dreamweaver
