I run my website, update it, etc., but I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a webmaster! :)

What are the best and most safe resources for free Javascript and HTML applications on the Internet?

Plus are there any that should be avoided?

I've had good luck with the scripts here --

Dynamic Drive DHTML(dynamic html) & JavaScript code library (http://www.dynamicdrive.com)

They have a huge collection, they're screened for quality by editors, and each one is demonstrated with examples.

As an added bonus, many of the scripts are cool effects that you'd actually want to use.
