My company has a dedicated Linux server. The company managing the server is providing a back-up service that give us the ability to back up to any of the last 7 days. However, because the amount of data on our server now surpasses 80 G, we would end up paying more for the back-up service than for the server itself.

Can somebody recommend a company that can provide a back-up service like this more affordably?

Perhaps another option would be to get another dedicated server and install some software on the existing server to do the back-up. However, I would want the company that provides the back-up server to install and configure the sofware to perform the back-up.

Thanks,
Paul

To have a second server can provide great benefits, but ensuring it is kept uptodate will be an endless task, and only when you need it will you know properly that the backup has been successful!

What about your current host? Do they not offer you a backup service?

With our managed servers we have a server ready to swap-in in case of complete failure of any of our managed servers. And we offer off-site backup which is just £59 per month: reliable and no hassle.
