Wireless Help

I recently purchased a wireless network. I have the CAT 5E cord connected into the NIC but I could not get connected to the other computers. I even tried taping the wire up to the wall, like an antenna, but it did not work. Then I thought maybe I had the wrong cable so after six hours of searching for a better cable on ebay I came across a thing called a crossover cable. I finally got the cable for a cheap $34.95 from a nice guy in Boston. I can't figure out how to hookup the cable. There are so many ports on the router, and the package didn't come with the appropriate wires. Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Please help.
