I recently moved all my sites to a new server and my google sitemaps started to return an error saying
General HTTP error: IP in excluded range

Looking into it I have read...
The IP address is in a private address space, reserved for local use (for instance 127.0.0.1). See RFC 1918 (rfc1918) - Address Allocation for Private Internets (http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1918.html) for information on private IP ranges.

Does anyone know anything about this, I dont quite understand, it looks like I am being told that the new server is in some private space inaccessible by google and I just wondered if anyone knew what this would be about, could it just be some setting on the server I would need to sort out?

It is supposed to be a dedicated server and so I am a little concerned what this means, as obviously I dont want to be on a server that is inacessible by SE.

What is the ip address and/or website in question?

the ip is 75.127.68.74
support for the host are saying they are going to assign a new IP address, but they dont seem to know why that has happened, so dont know if that will work.

Yes, there's definitely something funky going on with that ip address.
Is your host trying to sort it out?

It might be a new IP range and google has not updated its database?
