Screen saver traffic??

I was sent an e-mail telling me how fantastic this "screensaver traffic generator" was. I am as ever the sceptic so I had a look at it to see how this marketing wonder works,you download the proggrame and every time your screen saver comes on you are directing people to you from other websites who also have their sceensavers on (probably because they are not at their computers!) they ask you to pass the link on to 10 friends to multiply your traffic even more! could it be the new way to advertise? or is it just one of those "Pyramid" or "chain" scams? Has anyone else come across this or signed up? Does it work? Thanks in advance, Paul.
