Well, since it's show-and-tell time, the truth is that Dubbya and I are related.
I'm My Own Grandpa - Video (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/54702/im_my_own_grandpa/)
I am my own grandpa
Many, many years ago when I was just twenty-three,
I was married to a widow, she was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red
And my father fell in Love with her. Soon they too were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law--changed my very life!
My daughter was my mother because she was my father's wife!
To complicate the matter even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby he then became a brother-in-law to Dad.
Well, that made him my uncle--made me very sad!
Because if he was my uncle then he also was a brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.
[CHORUS]
My father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run.
And, of course, he became my grandchild because he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother and this makes me blue
Because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother too!
[CHORUS]
Now if my wife is my grandmother, well, then I am her grandchild,
And every time that I think about this, it nearly drives me wild!
Because now I have become the strangest case that you ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!
CHORUS:
I am my own grandpa! I am my own grandpa!
It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so!
Oh, I am my own grandpa!

Same here in 1975, although it was a '74 model (Datsun B210 Hatchback.)
Were it not for the fact that the Japanese had then not yet figured out how fast the salt used here on Winter roads eats through metal, so that the undercoating was virtually useless, I'd still have that car. :(

On a related note, I'd like to slap the silly git who fertilized my lawn while I was at work. Thankfully the riding mower is already prepped and ready for another busy weekend.

"Better to get up late and be wide awake than to get up early and be asleep all day." -- Anonymous :D
Just heard..No 10's front door is bolted on the inside and hammering sounds could be heard, like someone is fixing boards across. I guess the sounds of heavy furniture moving will soon be heard erecting the barricades. The whole 2057 pieces could be used to keep the wolves at bay.
BTW..the name Gordon is generally not at the top of the popularity polls this week. Ramsey is getting a bit of media stick over here right now...Give it to em Gordy.

2077 We heard a strange but true story yesterday, when Bristol Zoo opened it's doors a Council owned car par office was opened and charged cars £1.00 and coaches £5.00 - nothing strange in that, in fact the guy that opened up everyday was an extremely pleasant chap. 25 years that little car park office was open, then one day it disappeared. The Zoo phoned the Council and asked for a replacement. The Council said 'not our job'. Now on a tiny island somewhere, is that parking attendant. He'd pocketted every penny for 25 years.

I've always found that if you're going to pull a stunt, it's always best to just walk right in, smile and act like you're supposed to be there. As long as everything looks legit and you appear to know what you're doing, most folks will buy in. Best imposter ever? Frank Abagnale Jr.

Great story, Ctabuk! Ya gotta admire the chutzpah! You're right, Dubbya - if you act like you know what you're doing, and that you belong there, most people will never question you. And if they do, respond with an air of authority, and most will buckle!

Charged cars £1.00 and coaches £5.00; how much in total?
Estimate, check the maths;
300 cars a day =£300.00 a day
5 coaches a day = £25.00 a day
That is 325.00 a day
7 days * 52 days ay year *25 years)=9100
9100 * 350.00 =£3,185,000 not bad and Tax free as well.

Still trying to dry out here.
The young mother-to-be rabbit who's nesting in my yard is none too happy with the heavy rains we've had over the past several days. Even though I left a large un-mown patch around her temporary home, the rains have severely flattened the stand of grass and clover that served as her protective cover. And, the tiny burrow has turned quite soft. Only time will see how she makes out.
No sooner had I posted this, and the heavens once more opened up; I'm afraid she'll end up aborting.

With all due respects to mothers in general, had it not been for my father, my sisters and I would have been physically abused well beyond that which we suffered at the hands of our mother. This is a woman who has, in some fashion or another, abused nearly everyone within easy and constant reach. Despite her publicly holding herself out to be a deeply religious person, she is in fact one of the most mean spirited persons to ever draw breath.
2098
Sorry to hear that, DS.
On a more upbeat note...I was awakened this morning by my wife, eager to give me a Father's Day gift, which, of course, I graciously accepted. An hour or so later, my daughter came downstairs and gave me a big hug and wished me Happy Father's Day, too.
Now, I can certainly return the hug to my daughter. And I would be quite pleased to return the "gift" my wife gave me...in a couple of hours. But I'm faced with a moral question:
Should I tell them NOW, that Father's Day is NEXT Sunday, or should I wait until next Saturday?

Sleep is good; although, 2171 minutes of it might be deemed a coma.
Enjoy.

^^Don't worry I won't sleep the whole day lol... I will pamper my self the whole day before working at night. I might be late coz I have an appointment with the hair dresser. Be there at 2173.
2174 years in a row, I've been awarded the best-kept-garden prize, only to be ousted by a couple of young insomniacs like you! Outrageous!

2176 Going back to Gunsmoke and Miss Kitty - who remembers 'Chester'? Marshall Dillions sidekick. The character was based on Batt Masterson who was Wyat Earps deputy. Who played Chester?

2177 - Dennis Weaver played "Chester Goode" on Gunsmoke... I was just wee tad though ( I remember Festus much more clearly). I remember Dennis Weaver much more from his stint as McCloud... lolz.. riding his horse down the street and that sheepskin coat...

Oh, I see he had a few LP's out as well. Star of stage, screen and a recording artist? Not sure but I think he sang Opera. ;)

Yep! Dennis Weaver, not to be confused with Charlie Weaver, of Hollywood Squares fame.
Well, maybe "fame" is a little bit of a stretch.
To carry the trivia one more step...who played Doc? (No, it wasn't me!)
