4002 - After several unsuccesful attempts at whisky delivery using sea going vessels, I've decided that a tunneling machine is the best way to go. I've bought a cement mixer and turned it inside out and upside down. I can't actually see where I am at the moment so if you feel a vibration 'down there' please stamp your foot three times on the floor.

Is it an electric mixer or a petrol driven one? . Just that if it was an electric powered cement mixer you could post the switch (that turns it on) to Doc. This way Doc could turn it 'on and off ' as a signal when he hears you coming.

Get your finger out Uncle Dog. . You will never get done whatever it is you are doing if you keep making excusing and finding problems ... Stop Pissing around.

As North Sea Oil has just about run out, and we now have to cycle to work, there must be plenty of spare pipe lying around.
Turn it round and point it at the colonies, you can then export it via pipeline. You could have Whiskey coming out your taps!
If you need a pilot area to test the logistics of this, Stratford should give you a good casestudy.

Drove my daughter this evening to the inland and there I think it was -20 degrees. Difficult to get rid of the ice on the windows.
In the military I experienced -36 degrees celsius in the inland in Northern Norway, but -14 with strong wind in my home town Haugesund, on the southeast coast felt colder, so I can imagine how cold -23 degrees is felt in Scotland.

Isn't that topic handled in one of "Alistair Maclean's" ("The last frontier"?) books with Norwegian title "Inferno i hvitt" ("Inferno in white").
When I drove to get my Daughte home, they told me that -30C was measured there.
I don't felt it so cold, since there were not wind and it was in the inland with dryer air. I live 500 m from the coast.

The Electricity was interrupted at the same time that I had two young couples visiting. They wandered up to my bookshelf looking for something to read. they saw the photo albums "Can we look?"
"Yes" I said "Go for it"
I wandered out into the garden where there couples were thumbing through the photos about half an hour later and one of them looked at me and said "You are a 'has been' "
"possibly!" I answered.
My questions;
Is being called a 'has been' - good or bad?
Is being a 'has been' of any value if you have to look in a photo album to recognise one?
Is being a well known 'has been' better than being an unknown or forgotten one?
Does mere evidence of better days - make all of us older folk 'has beens' ?

I am the square root of minus one... no! I'm the square root of minus one.
4214 + [ (1/n) * (2n) ] / 2
[ (1/n) * (2n) ] / 2 is the era of a triangle with height 2n and base 1/n whose area is always 1.
When n increases over all boundaries, in the limit, it collapses to a Dirac pulse that is "so infinite" that it has all its mass in the origin.
That is:
It is possible to integrate a generalized function in one point and the integral is different from zero. That is not possible in Rieman integration.
And if you generalize the concept of derivatives, it is possible to differentiate a discontinous function.
So generalizations, like in object oriented programming (http://www.webproworld.com/programming/95633-professional-php-6-a.html#post483321), increases your opportunities.

from the FAS Project on Government Secrecy
Volume 2010, Issue No. 4
January 13, 2010
NAVY ISSUES GUIDANCE ON USE OF MARINE MAMMALS
A new U.S. Navy Instruction updates Navy policy on the use of marine mammals for national security missions.
It seems that by law (10 USC 7524 (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode10/usc_sec_10_00007524----000-.html) ), the Secretary of Defense is authorized to "take" (or acquire) up to 25 wild marine mammals each year "for national defense purposes." These mammals -- including whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea lions -- are used for military missions such as locating and marking underwater mines (http://www.spawar.navy.mil/sandiego/technology/mammals/mine_hunting.html), and providing force protection (http://www.spawar.navy.mil/sandiego/technology/mammals/force_protection.html) against unauthorized swimmers or vehicles, among other things (http://www.spawar.navy.mil/sandiego/technology/mammals/object_recovery.html).
The new Secretary of the Navy Instruction 3900.41F, dated 13 November 2009 and published this week, provides guidance on "Acquisition, Transport, Care and Maintenance of Marine Mammals (http://www.fas.org/irp/doddir/navy/secnavinst/3900_41f.pdf)." (pdf)
The U.S. military marine mammal program has labored under a cloud of public suspicion, the Navy admits, and such suspicion has only been aggravated by the secrecy that surrounded the program for many years.
"Several decades of classification of the program's true missions of mine-hunting and swimmer defense, led to media speculation and animal activist charges of dolphins used as offensive weapons, speculation and charges that could not be countered with facts due to that classification," according to a Navy fact sheet (http://www.spawar.navy.mil/sandiego/technology/mammals/NMMP_FAQ.html).
"With declassification of the missions of the program in the early 1990s, the Navy has repeatedly and openly discussed those missions, but rumors are not easily forgotten, and there are those who continue to actively promote them."

Well, had you come through with the proffered wet goods, he might have treated you better. ;)

I feel really bad about that now. What do you suggest I do with the 5 gallons with his name on?

I've just been posting on the other side... but it seems to have disappeared. Did you warn them? I think they've got some top quality moderators. You don't even get a chance to pull the piss out of hopeful scammers. Shame.

I noticed that your Statistics page showed a post; but, when I clicked on it, I got there custom 404.
I've been having weird stuff of my own happening as well.
E.g., it took several tries before my default setting re. saving sent PMs to actually stick. And, recently, when I visited Doc's Profile, the Visitor Msg. panel was missing; and, the Send a Msg. function was missing the Visitor Msg. option. More importantly, ny own CP is wholly missing the alerts re. new post to subscribed to threads.
On the up side, unlike WPW, the alert e-mails are experiencing smooth sailing.

You Stats. say 3 posts; but, only 2 show.
On the upside, my CP now shows my thread alerts; at least, for the moment.

Yeah, my best post seems to have gone somewhere but I'm still subscribed to that thread.
Downside? I'm friends with Doc again.

Since that's under your control, I'd say that that's a self-inflicted wound.

We've been saving all of the leftovers for you. :D
BYW, why have you disabled all messaging, both here and at v7n?

Make one or more seamless spider that sew them together.
