I noticed that my paid listings/ads on Yelp are nofollows. Is this becoming more common on these types of sites? I can understand it for non-paid links, but it seems wrong for advertisers. If you're familiar with Yelp this is nothing like text link ads.

Allow me not to agree with you at this point Jaan. I say so, while I am wondering how could Wikipedia protect herself from all those PR obsessed spammers?

Yeah I know what you mean. I just dont agree with it, because WikiP did it because Google wanted them to.

Why did Google want them to? Think about it man. To protect our rankings from spammers. I appreciate that to be honest.

Well as you might know I am not a big fan of the nofollow. The web was built on links, not putting condoms on them. Now I understand that spamming WikiP is a bad thing, but I prefer stopping it with editors like they did in the past.
This just goes back to the spamming and paid link discussions. I feel Google should be doing this work, not us as website owners.
