As many members already know here, I am a SEO professional, but also an expert in Accessibility and Usability.
I know you would say now: And so what?
Well, it looks like I'm fully prepared for personalized search interfaces. I already prepared my sites and of my clients for personalized search interfaces.
And now the question is: Are you also prepared? ;)

The only problem is personalized search is going nowhere any time soon.
See we do not repeatedly search for that which we know. We bookmark our favorite sites and as such personalization in search is going to do very little for the average search user.
We search for what we do not know and want information on those subjects, and as such we cannot personalize search for the user, when they have no idea what they want to search tomorrow, nor will the search engines.
Just my 2 cents

How can I search what I don't know? Mostly I use internet for detals of what I have already know. So personalized search is really necessary stuff I think

OK so is their a quick bullet list of things we should do to "prepare" for PSearch?
Yeah I agree PSearch is going nowhere soon, because people simply dont want or know to sign in at Google yet.

But Jaan you wrote today in another thread (http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=73340):
The days are gone of stagnant or stable SERPs. I have been saying this for over a year now on WPW.
With search load balancing on close to hundred G datacenters, localization and personalization of search...we will will not see stable results anymore.
As everyone can see it is just getting worse for those of us that run ranking checkers and use it as a metric for personal SEO gauges or for clients.
Elsewhere (http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?p=358432#358432) you posted today:
How do you know your not number 1 on 90 out of the 100 datacenters and you just happen to checking one of the other 10?
Personalization is a just a fact of life we are all going to have to accept. One day their wont be anyone always "being number 1".
So, I do not get what you mean. Can you be more explicit?

Yes those comments of mine are why personalization effects SEO, but not exactly how to prepare clients websites for PSearch like you said above.

But if you do not agree that PSearch can work, how could it affect the recent rankings of so many site owners?

Not sure where your going with this.
All I asked was what was done to your client or your websites to make them more "fully prepared for personalized search interfaces", that is all.

You are right Jaan. I should start another thread and ask what all think about this issue. ;)

Yes I think that would be a great thread.
Basically what can I (we) do to be successful in a post PSearch world as it applies to SEO.
