Hello,
I am going to create a new web site which will be a free posting or free advertisement on the web. It will have more than 50 categories.
I NEED to have a submit form php, perl or ASP scripts for the web site. So it can post to the right category. Could you please tell me where I can find or buy the script? Also, please give me some suggestions. Thanks.

With asp there are many complete ready to go scripts for what you are looking for. Looks like a classifieds system to me. Click on the link above and you will get a number of free (and some for a fee) classified ad systems you can install and then modify to your needs.
You can look in http://php.resourceindex.com/ for something. Many free or otherwise php scripts.

I'd look at Geodesic Solutions classified software (www.geodesicsolutions.com/ (http://www.geodesicsolutions.com/)). They offer a free lite version and three paid versions with additional capabilities. The free version is surprisingly feature rich and installs easily.
This is a LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) application which is far preferable in my opinion to an ASP script which will force you into the miseries associated with a Windows IIS server. My prejudice is showing but, while I admire what Microsoft does in desktop applications, I find the care and feeding of Linux server based applications to be a pleasure compared to the Redmond alternative.

Hello ee222,
I think the best software for your requirements is PHPKB Software at http://www.knowledgebase-script.com
You can view an online demo at http://www.knowledgebase-script.com/demo/
We are also going to use this script to create our own scripts resource directory at http://www.search-scripts.com which will be released in this month.

Try one of my favorite code repositories, HotScripts (http://www.hotscripts.com/).
Hi ee222,
Yeah, as others have said you should be able to find various different scripts for free download, I just wanted to say that if you are putting forms on a publicly accessible site you want to make sure that whatever script you use validates the user input. For example if your users can add a text article to the site the script should check that the user input is text only otherwise you are leaving yourself wide open for hackers to insert code into the database and potentially cause you alot of problems. Good luck with your new project,
carlos

Thank you for all your suggestions. I have checked out the scripts. I think I may use this application www.geodesicsolutions.com. It almost has all the features I need. And it doesn't need to use the ASP host.

I am still looking for the classified software. Can someone give me more classified software? So I can choose one of them. Thanks.

Hello ee222,
First of all, tell us what exactly you would like to do? Are you planning to setup a scripts resource directory like HotScripts (http://www.hotscripts.com) and Search Scripts (http://www.search-scripts.com) or are you planning to setup a yellow pages business directory of company listings like TheSaudia (http://www.thesaudia.com) ?
Once we have a better understanding of what you need a classified software for then we would be in a better position to help you with the right software.
Sincerely,
Ajay Chadha (Director)
