I am comfortable optimizing html sites. I’ve been doing it for quite some time and have been successful. Now I’m stuck optimizing a site made solely with flash. Does optimizing each page do anything? Can crawler based engines creep around and do their thing? How should I go about this?

First off Alltheweb is now reading and indexing Flash, so there's one engine off the worry list.

The Noembed tag was developed to give users who could not see Flash an alternate method of understanding the Flash content, and spiders are one type of user who cannot see the content.

Put the content you want indexed in a noembed tag and the spiders will lap it all up.

There is another, less direct and harder but even more effective manner that works for getting Flash sites to rank well in Google, get enough inbound anchor text links and the page will rank on the strength of that.
