Ths Singapore Sling I had at Changi Airport was the most memorable, especially as finishing the first one coincided with the announcement of my plane being delayed. "Oh dear" I said, "I'll have to order another then". The main ingredient is cherry brandy, but Wikipedia have the full list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore_Sling) as I was quite jaded.
The other drink was Baileys frappe, which is basically a Baileys milkshake (Baileys cream and Ice whizzed up in a blender and sucked through a straw). I had one on my hen night and it was sooooo nice (oo er missus!).

Even by my standards, Newcastle brown is pretty strong.
But then Ridleys isn't much better either. If its ale, its gotta be Tetleys.

I used to bartend in a nightclub and, to be funny, guys would come up to the bar and ask me for any kind of nasty-sounding dirty sex drink, mainly waiting for me to blush.
I'd just laugh... and then ask for their ID.

What about proper snakebite? Most pubs in UK have a limit on how many to serve 1 person (average is 3). But there used to be a minimum age limit. I don't know if there still is.

What's in a "proper snakebite"? Must be strong if there's a limit. For someone like me, the limit is usually one. :)

Amaretto Sour - Pour the amaretto liqueur into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Add a splash or two of sweet and sour mix, and shake well. Strain or pour into an old-fashioned glass, garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of orange, and serve.
I like it with a shot of peach schnapps, it makes it even better:)

GHG did you get a bit happy with the copy/paste function or do you really let it steep for 150 days?
Even so, thats the sort of thing my hubby would love. He is chilli mad. His Singaporean colleagues believe his mouth is made of asbestos!

Nice but nasty stuff. At a BBQ once drinking half carling / half strongbow and (just to be a bit soft) vimpto. Thinking afterwards we shouldn't really have added the vimpto as it went down too easily. Good stuff tho
Oh and wtf is a purple smurf!?!?

Neat Tuaca. It is from Tuscany. It is a combination of Brandy, local fruit essences and vanilla.
It is one of the nicest liquors that my wife and I have ever tasted. A truly great drink.

Clicken my Dear, perhaps yours does, mine comes in plastic. The screw top is removed and discarded (ahem...recycled) as it serves no further use.

Oh.
I guess smashing the empty in celebration err-um I mean to prepare it for recycle is out. Well, perhaps it is best as this could cut back on stitches, band-aids and flat tires!
Seems to me that by not using the screw top one could risk inadvertently losing some… like when one falls down or waves their arms in conversation or bends over to pick up their hat or something like that. Hmmm, maybe for some, losing a bit of it is a good thing.
Of all the mixed drinks I have tried, the Hurricane was the biggest, prettiest and most memorable. It seems the ingredients have changed and there are different versions for it on the net. The ones I had were blue and served in a big (huge) glass but this is the essence of it…
The Hurricane SHOULD be served with a warning… Do not partake if you have had other drinks prior to this one and only drink ONE per occasion/evening,… It tends to blow!
1 oz 151
1 oz bacardi dark
1 oz bacardi light
1 oz triple sec
1 oz grenadine
5 oz pineapple juice
Pour mixture over crushed ice

For fellow Northerners the world over - winter outings call for Hot Drinks by the fireside afterwards -
Ginger ale (sweet - non alcoholic, in America - Vernors)
Heat it up and add 1 shot of ginger vodka
Top with lemon slice.
If that doesn't warm your toes nothing will.

Do you have Vernor's ginger ale up there? You haven't lived until you have had the drink I just posted if you
like ginger vodka. Vernor's is nothing like Canada Dry. It's sweet and ambery and luscious and.......OMG I hope
it snows soon...................

Oh I like the sound of that! I need to find some Vernor's, haven't heard of it, but I will find it. It is just starting to snow here! We have a long winter here, in Alberta, Canada.
Hot toddies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_toddy) in the chalet"
Hot toddy is a name given to a mixed drink that is served hot. Although it originated in Scotland, there are many variations; the essential elements are as follows:
a spirit base such as brandy, rum or whisky.
hot liquid — hot tea, coffee, cocoa, water, etc.
a sweetener, such as honey, sugar or syrup.
Other ingredients that are not necessary, though common:
spices, generally "brown" spices such as cinnamon or cloves.
citrus, such as lemon or orange.
a small quantity of butter.
lemonade can also be used instead of hot water and citrus; this is a modern variant.
some people also add mild pain killers to combat the symptoms of colds
Hot toddies (such as mulled cider) are traditionally considered appropriate for relaxing in the evening before retiring, or following exposure to severe weather. Hot toddies were traditionally believed to have a curative effect on colds or flu, although the American Lung Association now recommends avoiding alcoholic beverages as a remedy for the cold, as these cause dehydration.[1].
Yeah, they cause other things besides dehydration, that is the point! Drink screwdrivers if you you have the gripp!!

Ok this thread has been brought back to life. I had a sneak preview of the Sloe Vodka before bottling and leaving for another 6 months.
Well the good news is it wasn't deadly Nightshade I picked because I'm still here. Also it tasted really nice (and very potent) ;)
suddenly I remember sneaking some booze in my room during some sort of slumber parties back in high school. we had to hide it from our parents so we always mix some vodka to any flavor of fruit shake.
