When can we start to use XHTML 2.0 (http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-xhtml2-20060726/xhtml2.html#s_doctype)?

P.S. Go to the top (http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-xhtml2-20060726/xhtml2.html#s_doctype)and note the editors:

Jonny Axelsson, Opera Software
Mark Birbeck, x-port.net
Micah Dubinko, Invited Expert
Beth Epperson, Websense

Does this indicate that Opera 10.0 will be XHTML 2.0 compliant?

Never. So far I know, HTML 5 is on the way: http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200701/elements_and_attributes_in_html_5/

John, but isn't HTML5 (http://simon.html5.org/html5-elements), in mathematical terms, a subset or a dialect of XHTML?

Doesen't everything point in the direction of X(HT)ML?

Some reccomend to use XHTML 1.1 in your code today.

May be I use to many links to may owns sites / pages, so this time I will point you to the following artice:

Advice for webmasters, especially those who want to set up a new site.

Click on the first link in my signature, then on the first link in the upper right corner. Should very much appreciate your comments if you have some minutes to read that short article.

P.S.
From the article you point to:

Do you know another well known Swedish site:

XHTML 2.0 is dead, as W3C failed on that one. We can only hope that we will get HTML 5 and an XML-ified version of that, similar to HTML 4.01 vs. XHTML 1.0.

XHTML 1.1 is not recommended. Otherwise I would have updated my sites already... ;)

Thank you for your reply John. Is you or Joe Clark (http://joeclark.org/access/webaccess/zoom/) the web's accessibility guru?

I cannot speak about myself. But I can tell that Joe Clark is a guru.

I see that your location is European Union. Do you know the Norwegian poet, Sibjørn Obstfelder, that said the following:

"Seems like I have come to the wrong planet" :-)

I don't know the Poet, but I sure agree with him. :)

Isn't it more on topic in the Usability /Accessibility forum? I thought I posted it there.

This is not an Accessibility/Usability issue. This is a Markup issue and I will move it back to the Graphics/Design forum. I did that already, but seems that David moved here again. LOL

Agree, markup, that is design issue. You learn as long as you live and the other way round. The person that has finished learning has not finished learning, but is finished.
