Hotel System

Hi All

Anyone familiar with hotel system? I was requested to develop a hotel (offline) system that should include reservation, room availability, income report, etc.

I am new to hotel system and have not seen any of such application. Would someone be kind enough to share about features of a hotel system? In addition, i would appreciate if someone could point me to a url with articles or tutorial about hotel system, features and functions.

Why would you be contracted to build such as system if you had no such experience in doing so?

Thanks for the feedback. I was not quite engaged totally in the entire project though, I am just helping a friend out. He is planning to set up a 3 star hotel and knowing that i can program, he asked if i would be interested to help and find out about it.

I would suggest looking at a open source program called SugerCRM.
This is a generic custumer relations management software. Written in PHP and using MySQL.
It will need some recoding but should point you in the right direction.
I would set it up and then have your friend show you what he needs and what he doesn't.
