Turn on personalized search

When I search in Gooogle, the results vary based on the clicking of a link on the top right.

"Turn ON Personalized Search (Beta) for these results »"

Anyone have a explanation of how this works?

It does alter my search listings when the link is clicked.

Also a chance it could be some Firefox add on? As I don't see the link using I.E.

Likely has to do with firefox, prob not spyware.
