I do agree on that here in India, there are too many so called self claimed seo experts. But I can assure you that these type of guys can be from any where in world.
I can tell you even being Indian, you should not be building Links. It's an old game.
You need to market your online business or website for visitors, for search engines and for whatever. Links are bi-product.
Link building is amateur’s term.

What should we be building? Houses?
So much for the people that call themselves and their companies link builders then!
Someone has to create the content yes but that whole process is link building!

Building Houses, If you give one to me even. LOL.
Basically most Link Building is such a waste of time. You need to develop some viral marketing strategies, develop Linkbaiting services for your online business. Most Link builders forget thatyou need targetd visitors to run the business and not links.
Once thing's starts working out, Links gets building on Auto Pilot.
And you would already be getting traffic.
There are certain directories where links should be hand submitted, as it helps search engine for site's categorization, and building credibilty.
This just small synopsis I can provide you for Link building.
There are some ways where you could have 1000's of inbound link to the site but with no real visitor's and many times Google is not giving importance.
Hope you get my point and you can make much more Homes for yourself.

Yes, building houses is easier than building links lol
I would suggest you to have your hands for getting natural link rather than beg for links.......

Link building is perhaps a "tired" term, but the effectiveness of which is undisputed. Whether you seek them out, or acquire them naturally, you'll move forward. Links still prevail @ live / msn, and usually don't hurt (if done correctly) in the others. Traffic is traffic, just figure out which niche you're going for. (my guess is that pagerank probably isn't in this equation)
Just my 2 cents.
