Hi Group,
I'm a small business owner in need of a web developer to help create a music portal site that we would like to launch in June of 2006. A friend of mine, who is also a member of this board, suggested that this board would be a good place to find reputable, talented free lance programmers.
We are in need of web designers and PHP/JAVA programmers for Music Portal launch. Website will be similar to www.mp3.com in functionality and purpose. We have purchased a template (#7608) from www.templatemonster.com, and have purchased a "myspace clone" script (http://www.popscript.com/scripts/php-scripts/social-networking/php-myspace-gold-edition-8-10/prod_614.html) for PHP functionality--therefore, 3/4ths of the actual design and programming is already complete.
We seek experienced professionals who can merge the functionality of the "myspace clone" script with our template monster template design. We will also need a number of options in the script and web design modified. Some modifying of the overall search engines will need to be done, but the PHP code provided with the clone script should suffice as a way to create the other unique search engines.
We need post-launch support as well for a short while after the site is launched. Furthermore, when the site has launched, we need a way to update content on the site that can be done by any employee with the appropriate permissions, and without a lot of technical "hoopla."
Budget is between $750-$1200. We look forward to hearing from you, and receiving a quote.

I have received a few replies from webproworldmembers who are interested in this project. Unfortunately, the private messaging system here will not let me login to retrieve my private messages, but will only send a copy of the original private message to my email inbox.
To remedy this, i have made my email available to members of this forum, and for those who are interested in the project, I hope you will an email to my email address, so that we can discuss more details about the project.
Also, a couple of the private messages I have received had no contact information included, and so of course I was not able to write back or get in touch.

Hello, well if your having problems loggin in to receive your private messages, get your password resent to your email, login and try again. But thats not why i'm replying.
First of all, i think your budget is horrendously low for programming a system for the independent music economy. with the functionality you probably seek to provide musicians and consumers, you will need a good $15,000 to hire a developer to incorporate all the basic content management system applications.
Second of all, myspace architecture templating is probably not a good idea. get your money back and start from scratch. use PHP MySQL XML and Ajax. I don't know what exactly you are trying to accomplish in the music feild but i do know a lot about the music economy, and have been developing a portal HUB for the music industry looking to launch by the end of this year.
please visit http://dubxpress.com and see why I call Dubxpress the Music Industry at your Fingertips.... you are welcome to join my mailing list or call the number on the frontpage to discuss how my corporation could possibly work with yours, as a digital distributor, agent, affiliate or whatnot... or at least view what you are up against.
Cheers,

Peter,
I like you business model, a plethora of services for the independent musician. In fact, I don't think that we would be competing so much, because our model is based a little less on music selling and a bit more on music making. Perhaps I will give you call sometime and discuss some things with you.
Do you have business experience?

i have none other than learning the hard way when NOT to make 1000 CDs and put the bill on a credit card LOL. I am seeking to partner with someone who does, actually. I am talking to a 3rd party venture capital porpsal firm who will be creating management profiles and detailed projects, a summary and all that.. its a $250,000 startup.
thanks for your response, i would be more than happy to discuss things with you over the telephone. I waas going to send this as a private message, but the webproworld private message outbox appears to be full of memory at the moment.
Regards,
Pete Sysko
