We recently developed a dotMobi version of our popular .com sites forum. The purpose being to provide anglers with fishing reports or the ability to ask questions while they are actually on the water.

My question is does anyone know if a syndicated version of a .com with the same content as a dotMobi considered duplicate content to the search engines or is the very different format and extension enough for the crawlers to differentiate the legitimate use of this as the "same but different"?

It is duplicate content.

I agree! That is what we call in SEO, 100% duplicated content. :)

My question is...
I have developed 2 different sites for 2 branch of the same company.
They have 2 different domains and the design changes, but about 80% of the content (products, company news, etc..) are the same.

How will that affect to search engines?

thanks

That is still duplicated content. Here you can check the similarity of your pages too: http://tool.motoricerca.info/similarity-analyzer.phtml

I avoid having more than 20% similarity overall.

Some interesting info about duplicated content: http://www.isedb.com/db/articles/1593/

Webnauts, thanks for the useful links,

Do you think is a good idea to disallow in robots.txt, of one of the sites, the folders where the content is 100% duplicated?

what if you do a search of some of the content using "".

for example, search on Google "part ot the text that you are using on the site you are optimizing"
