affiliate marketing for an auction site

Is there anyway to use affiliate marketing to promote an auction site?

I can see the possibility of PPC but I was thinking more along the lines of maybe paying per new member registering to the site.

If it could work, who is recommended to look for to get help with setting this up?

I am not a programmer or very literate in that type of thing so this stuff is kinda like a foreign language when it comes down to that part so please don't get to technical.

I answered one of your other posts and mentioned starting an Affiliate program as an option, but never provided a link to a suggested merchant program.

Depending on your budget you'd probably be wise to start with a managed program, rather than buying software and running your own. Less hassles and most everything is taken care of for you. All you need do is supply some banners, text links, landing pages etc and fund your account for affiliate payments!

I recommend ClixGalore as they are very affordable (from $75) to get started and you'll immediately have access to a large database of affiliates, looking for programs to promote: http://www.adspecs.co.nz/clixgalore.htm
