So I still can't get over this kid I interviewed (http://www.webpronews.com/insiderreports/marketinginsider/wpn-50-20061004TalesOfANinthGradeExecutive.html) at the PPME. He's 14 years old and is the president and CEO of the Teen Podcasters Network.

Man, I'm almost embarrassed about my own goals as a 14 year old. My main goal then was to find a way into the girl's locker room undetected...needed to find some sort of invisibility juice.

But Robbie Trencheny is running his own online business even if he's not old enough to get into the industry's major conference without parental supervision.

They just get younger and younger

In the early days of AOL I was 2nd in charge of Israeli Interactive, a forum for Israel and a place where worldwide Jews could go to find out about their homeland.

I know, a Mick in a Jewish forum... it's a hobby.

Anyway, our brightest lads were under the age of 14. They knew everything... sometimes before any of the rest of us did.

It was a sobering experience and I've never lost my respect for young talent.

An old dog can learn new tricks but it's the young pups teaching us, I suspect.

I feel sorry for the kid, there was a lot of fun at his age. May be he is born differently but I certainly feel that there is time for everything.

Wishing him all luck and hoping he will not leave his enjoyable time because of this company.

If he retires when he's 25, he can have any kind of childhood he likes after that. With motorcycles too.

Mhm. That's pretty cool. The person who runs the forum (http://forums.fusionxhost.com/index.php?ref=2531) that hosts my site, FusionXHost, is only 16.

I'm in high school too. I have my own website, do the designing, tweak stuff, volunteer to manage and design sites...But running your own company? At /14/? Like, /wow/. XD

I get the opportunity to coordinate and judge the annual Web Design and Developement Skills competition for the local school board (high schools).

It blows me away, every year I find at least one of these 'kids' to contract some work to. Some of them do better work than many of the professionals I've run across!

Our entire CMS system was developed by a 17 yr old... and he wants to go into civil engineering. LOL

children these days are years ahead of their age.

Becasue of so much available information, their minds grow faster.

In a way it is good as they mature faster but then they go old early too.
