So at this session of the PPME, Paul Colligan spoke at length about how to monetize a podcast. There are some great ideas that come out of this talk, from a guy that really knows what he's talking about.
It's a really long article (http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/topnews/wpn-60-200610027PodcastMonetizationStrategies.html), basically because one expert spoke on one subject for a full hour. Here's the run-down on the 7 ways, if you don't have time to read.
1. Benefactor Revenue (donations, or "buy me a cup of coffee") Heh, I call this one the stripper method -- "Buy me a drink, handsome?"
2. Newsletter Revenue
3. Merchandizing
4. Premium Podcasting (or services)
5. Commissioned Sales
6. Web Clicks
7. Sell Your Own Product
Are there others you can think of?
