I have a site that had #1 position for a particular search phrase for the last 3 years or so. The other night I noticed that I could not see that phrase in the referral records of the search terms used on Google. I quickly googled for it but could not find my site anywhere, at least 10 pages of Google search results deep. Something similar happen a few years ago and my site was gone for some 9 months, until it suddenly reappeared on the #1 position just as suddenly as it was gone. The same happen this time, except it only took about a day.
Anyone is familiar with this anomaly?

Just since yesterday evening, One of my #1's went to #2 and I had another completely disappear off the map. So... I am finding, for myself, some irregularities.

As more and more searchers start to use Google Accounts and Google considers the IP of the searcher more to build search result pages, these pages will be come more customized (different) for each of us, hence the reason the results will vary so much from some in LA and someone in NY.

There have been changes again in the last 8 days. I can't figure out what rules "algo" may be kicking in.
Results vary from category to category, I see improvements to pages in "Ghost Disappeances".
