GOOGLE gone haywire?

Has anyone noticed strange things in GOOG’s SERP lately?

I did a Google search on: “Google Introduces TrustRank” (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-50,GGLD:en&q=google+introduces+trustrank)

Here’s #3 SERP:

Google Introduces “TrustRank” to Append “PageRank” With Patent 7096214 Last edited by greeneagle on March 31 2005; edited 1 time in total ...

How can they be that seriously cross-threaded? The linked thread reference has absolutely nothing to do with referenced topic underneath. It’s posted over at; “Google’s Most Recent Patent Application Shows a Shift” (http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=66800)

What’s going on here???? Is it the GOOG or WPW?

Is anyone seeing mismatched or cross-threaded SERP anywhere else?

Ken,

from wher I'm sitting your Google search provides the following WebProWorld entry at #18:

WebProWorld :: View topic - The future of publishing articles to ... ArchiveThere seem to be quite a few new rules in the blog game too. That's pretty scary dburdon!

I know the TrustRank Patent that was just awarded is a pretty hot topic.... but there is no reason to fold it in on top of everything else...

OK - When it comes about that the GOOG essentially admits that they have been implementing TrustRank to augment PageRank for a number of years, probably beginning with the "Florida" update... yes that is big news, but come on now... something just doesn't seem right in the SERP!

not that I mind it that much ;)

Actually I thought about that!

What do you think I should do - Be honest and ask the powers to be, or delete this post and ride it out with a smile on my face?

LOL

Is it just "fair game", or is something really screwed up here?

Let's just play for a minute and suppose it is something that WPW has done with sigs:

Why would mine be singled out?

On top of that..... If it is being singled out for some priority listings in GOOG that don't make any real sense... why is it?

If it is a WPW "feature" then they need to understand it and "slam dunk" it for everyone, don't you think? That just doesn't seem very likely, does it?

Does SEO come that easy?

I don't think so.

So what the heck is going on here?

Anyone - Let's hear it!

I am totally lost!

Traffic bandwidth isn't a problem, unfortunately ;)

Are you asking a question or trying to rank your blog for the phrase "trustrank" Ken?

Why link your website? Oh that's right, I guess this is what some use this forum for, funny me. ;)

1. Your signature is shown in all of your posts. If you change it, it is simultaneously changed in all posts.

2. You should, if you use a signature, use the name of your sites in the signature. That is free ad from WPW that is relevant to your business. That should perhaps be counted as one link to each site in your signature. Links with descriptive anchor text to your, or more generally, other sites, should only be used if it is relevant to the discussed topic.

3. Even if SeBOTS gets more human, they are still not clever on pattern reckognition. A human being at once sees the difference between a plane, a bird, a leaf, a cloud etc. A SeBOT does not.

P.S. The end result may be that SeBOT's filter out links in signatures. Then WPW signtures has no effect, and the forum can use the same policy as WMW, no links in signatures or no signatures at all.
