I have created a blog having my main site domain name as the blog name. I would like to update this blog regularly by giving brief information about my site updations. Will this be harmful for me. Will it be spammy.

Any comments appreciated.

It won't be spammy if you provide quality content. Consider not thinking "SEO" and think more customer service, that mentality will lead to a quaility site the search engines and visitors love. (and other sites will want to link to) Make the blog valuable, and it will pay off big time. Blogs are great for credibility. Establish yourself as an expert.

I implement all my clients new and events section or article section as a blog, all the time.

because blogs are alive and websites are not, so all the people in the organization, their clients can contribute on the official blogs of their companies websites.

it is ok for your website to have a blog area as well.

and it will be good as an seo stand point as well.

It won't be spammy if it is a relevant. Relevancy is a must...:p Blogging is one excellent way of building link. It is a one way linking to your site.

A weblog or a blog is a journal or newsletter that is often updated and intended for general public consumption. We use it to promote a client’s site because a blog can contain information that is instantly published to the web. One advantage of using a blog in SEO is that blogs could be used for link exchange transactions and link promotion. It helps SEO to give the prospect link exchange partner a choice for a 3-way link exchange rather than just a reciprocal link exchange.Since a blog contains articles which are related to the targeted keywords or related to the client’s site services and products, Blogging is a good way to drive traffic to your site. It is used for link exchange and link promotion which helps to find some potential three-way link exchange partner.

Hi...I'm curious, do you use Wordpress for the events/news section and how do you integrate them into the main site? I've done this on a couple sites myself, both as a separate part of the site and as a feed on the main site...wondering your thoughts on it. Thanks! :D

I use the blog for the news / events section, for some clients, I develop a blog for them to complement their website.

example, New York Adoption Home Study Service - Adoption Consultation (http://www.nyhomestudy.com), their official blog is NYHOMESTUDY BLOG (http://www.nyhomestudy.net)

example 2, Multilingual Development Agency - Early Intervention New York (http://www.multilingualdevelopment.com), their official blog is A Multilingual Development Agency (http://www.multilingualdevelopment.net)

get the drift

one thing to note is that i install the word press on the .net domain and not in a sub domain, this has its own advantages.

for some of my own websites, I just deploy word press on the root of the domain.

however, you may install word press in a sub-domain in your main domain for the news section.

yea, I've done all that. Just wondering what your take on the benefits of different approaches was. :)
