Does anyone know what this executable is? "Oak92Xd2.exe" It's in my System32 file and I suspect it may be the cause of some of my adware/spyware problems.
Also, if I have a firewall in stealth mode and Norton (up-to-date) should these hijackings and pop-ups be getting through? Internet Explorer is asking for permission to access the internet like every other minute and it's very annoying. I've got zone alarm, webroot spysweeper, spybot and adaware, but everything I delete just comes right back. Why are these things so hard to get rid of? To make matters worse, I'm not even sure what to be looking for when I'm in my registry.
Any advice?

1.-Oak92Xd2.exe look to me like a driver for video,
audio or cdrom, from oak technologies now
Zoran Corp.
2.-try Spyware blaster and adware.

I think I have seen this one in my mailbox too but wasn't harmed (exe files install on PC's only, and I have a macintosh). I tried searching on CERT's site but there was nothing there. You might want to report it to them along with all the details. A good practice is to block any incoming mail with the following extensions:

.cmd, .pif, .scr, .exe, or .bat

These are notorious for carrying and installing viruses.

CERT's site: http://www.cert.org is the first place to gather information on viruses and has plenty of articles and documentation to go through. You would be better off contacting them for help, as well as your ISP and your computer company to see how to get rid of whatever was installed on your hd.
